SkyLeaks - new video - Vuelta 2014

2015-07-15, 12:08 - Mathieu

If you haven't seen the 1st episode of the "Skyleaks" affair, here are some french links with the Ventoux video, some comments, and some words from Antoine Vayer :

Antoine Vayer gave us a new video file created from Froome's data, less spectacular than the one in the Ventoux. This one takes place at the 16th stage of the 2014 Vuelta, won by Alberto Contador. A great attack from Froome can be seen at 4'49". Enjoy ! And hope we'll have a new video from Pierre-Saint-Martin (thanks Lisbeth Salander !).

As Antoine Vayer said, these are only raw data : "For me this video is only a way to help inexperienced spectators to question themselves, in an attractive way.".
And as Dave Brailsford said, there are plenty of ways of getting the numbers to say what you want !

Furthermore, we do not know how the sensor was set up, these power numbers can't be used if you do not know the exact weight of Froome the day of the climb, and Sky use some O'Symetric chainrings that can over/underestimate the real power, and so on.
Prudence !
